The Political Vacuum

The opinion polls leading up to Saturday's Queensland State election certainly picked the lingering disdain for the opposition Liberal National Party.  Labor has done a good job in reminding voters that Tim Nicholls was at the heart of many of the most unpopular decisions of the previous Campbell Newman government spectacularly thrown out of office in January, 2015.

Support for both the LNP and the Labor government has slumped, sometimes markedly, across various electorates, leaving the results in the hands of voters' preferences.  The voter vacuum between the two major Parties had grown even more.  It will be quite a few days before many seats can be confidently called.
