Issues:  Electricity Infrastructure

Australian Voice does not support the privatisation of our electricity infrastructure for several reasons.

Firstly, surveys have shown that the Australian public is overwhelmingly opposed to the sale of public assets.  We elect governments to serve our interests, not the interests of big business or corporations.

Secondly, it does not make political sense to lose control of an essential community service.

Thirdly, it does not make economic sense to sell an essential community service, except to those who will potentially make huge profits selling us the electricity at inflated prices.

Fourthly, there is no evidence that the sale of such important assets provides any long-term benefit to the community or to the government.  On the contrary, the opposite would appear to be the case.
